Each Individual and Every Sector Should Vie in New Year
1999 has closed with significant achievements having obtained by the entire Party, people and army of Vietnam.
Vietnam has entered 2000, a year full of red-lettered days such as the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the 55th National Day, the 110th anniversary of the birth of the late president Ho Chi Minh and 25th anniversary of the liberation of south Vietnam and national reunification.
These celebrations remind Vietnamese of the glorious historic chapters the nation has undergone since the birth of the Party to overthrow the feudal and colonial oppression and domination, launch patriotic wars for national salvation, independence and freedom for a new system. Inheriting the glorious tradition of our forefathers, we continue to go ahead with the path of renovation initiated and led by the party.
Welcoming 2000, the last year of the 20th century, a crucial preparatory year for the 21st century, everyone of us is deeply imprinted with President Ho Chi Minhs teaching" "Each individual and every sector must be engaged in an emulation campaign" in order to win comprehensive successes in 2000 as wished by Party General Secretary Le Kha Phieu.
To achieve all these goals, it is necessary for every individual, sector and locality to be fully engaged in a vying campaign... This strength of the nation has also been possible thanks to the nationwide popular campaign of Party building and streamlining with criticism and self-criticism as a crucial link.
Yeah, yeah, fine, whatever, did you see the ball drop in Times Square?
